Khawnglung village, situated in
Lunglei District, is a charming place where history and natural beauty meet in perfect harmony. The place was vital in the famous north-south war of
Mizoram, which took place during 1856-1859.
Sub-tropical and semi-evergreen forest that dot the landscape presents a pretty picture of nature’s splendor at work. Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary is a prime attraction.
The best time to visit the village is between October to March. Khawnglung is about 170 km south-east of Aizawl.
