Khatu Shyamji Temple is a highly revered shrine located at
Khatu Shyamji, about 48 km from
Sikar, in
Rajasthan. This temple dedicated to Babhruvahan is built in white marble.
The place is associated with the epic Mahabharata. It is believed that Lord Krishna after pleased with the sacrifice of Babhruvahan blessed him to be worshipped as Shyam himself in Kaliyug.
A tradition associated with the temple is that, a large number of people visit the place every year for the Jadula ceremony (the first time all hair is shaved off the head) of their children.
The Khatu Shyamji Fair, celebrated here, attracts thousands of tourists from different parts of the state.
Ringas Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead, about 17 km from the temple.
