The
Khasi tribe of
Meghalaya constructs their smoking pipes from bamboo. It consists of a bowl at the bottom connected with a pipe. A cigarette holder is connected to the pipe, above the bowl. This holder consists of two tubes, one that holds a cigarette and the other used for smoking. The tube holding the cigarette is larger in diameter compared to the other one.
Traditional patterns are engraved on the surface of both the bowl and the central pipe. The inner surface of the bowl contains a ceramic lining.
