Khanapura is a picturesque village situated in
Belgaum District of
Karnataka, at a distance of 28 km to the south of
Belgaum and 500 km to the north-west of
Bangalore. The village is famous for its Jain heritage and there is a famous Jain temple called Khanapura Jain Temple, which enshrines an attractive idol of Bhagvan Shri Shanthinatha. During the 17th and 18th centuries, Khanapura stood as one of the important trade centers for the Goa merchants.
Khanapura has good transportation facilities which connect it with Belgaum and other nearby cities and towns. The nearest railway station and airport are at Belgaum.
