Khanabal is a village situated in
Anantnag District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 44 km from
Pahalgam and 27 km from Nadimarg.
The place is on the banks of the Jhelum River. The main attraction of the place is the Khanabal Kadal, the first bridge over the Jhelum in its journey downstream. This ancient bridge was reconstructed by Pratap Singh in 1894. Spanning a length of 94 m, the existing Khanabal Bridge was built by the then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah in 1982. Padshahi Bagh Bridge, 3 km from Khanabal is another draw.
By road, Khanabal is easily accessible on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. Srinagar is 55 km north of Khanabal. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
