Khallari is located in
Mahasamund District of
Chhattisgarh. It is around 25 km south-east of
Mahasamund.
During the reign of Brahmdeo Rai, his capital was Khallari, which was then known by the name Khalwatika. The old inscriptions seen in the place refer to the reign of Kalchuri Kings. Today, it is a prominent religious destination in the district. The important pilgrim places at Khallari include temple of Khallari Mata, Devalaya, Bhim Panv and Lakheshwari gudi.
