The Khakloo tribe of
Tripura basically inhabits the hilly region. The members of this tribe dress according to their habitat and climate. The clothes are woven by the women folk.
The Khakloo man wears a narrow piece of cloth, called ‘rikutu Gamcha’, on his lower body. He occasionally wears a shirt called ‘kubai.’ A turban called ‘pagri’ is worn during the summer.
The Khakloo woman wears a long piece of cloth, called ‘pachchra,’ to cover the lower body. A small cloth called ‘risha’ is worn tightly over the upper part of the body. She also wears a typical headdress when working outside the home. She adorns her neck with ornaments made from beads and coins.
