Organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department, Khajuraho Dance Festival is a cultural festival incorporating Indian arts, dance and music. It is held during the months of February and March in
Khajuraho. The festival is conducted in an open-air auditorium in front of the
Chitragupta Temple. Apart from the Chitragupta Temple, it is also celebrated at the Vishvanath Temple. This seven days festival was first organized in the year 2002.
Different classical dances such as Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Manipuri are presented during this festival. The best in these ancient dance forms are specially invited for performing their art here. A number of well-known artists and craftsmen participate in this festival and present their art to the numerous visitors and tourists.
