Opened its doors in 1957, Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan is an arts and crafts emporium located at
Anna Salai,
Chennai. It functions to provide a channel to the village artisans to sell their products. All the products sold here are handmade and are procured through Khadi Village Industries Commission's approved units.
The collections include handicrafts made out of rosewood, sandalwood and season wood, Thanjavur art plates, papier mache dolls, sculpture made out of blue metal and white marble, Khadi material and silk sarees. Gurukanni honey, ghee, Agarbathis (incense sticks) and Neem soaps sold at the Bhavan have found a niche in the international market too.
Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan has recently started a separate section for Ayurveda, Siddha and Naturopathy medicines.
