Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (KCAET) is situated at
Tavanur, on the southern bank of
Bharathapuzha, in
Malappuram District. The college is on a hill commanding a charming view of the natural scenery around. It was founded in 1963 by the Government of India
Affiliated to the Kerala Agricultural University, it offers B-Tech and M-Tech programs in agricultural engineering. Central facilities include instructional cum research workshop, central data processing unit, remote sensing and photographic cell, and a reprographic and audio visual unit.
The instructional farm attached to the college is one of the centers for producing grafts/seedlings/seed materials, under the integrated breeder seed multiplication program. Besides, it houses a dairy unit and a veterinary hospital, which provides ample facility in artificial insemination and treatments of animals to the nearby farmers.
KCAET is 8 km west of Kuttipuram Railway Station and 12 km north of Ponnani.
