Kedara Ghat is one of the significant pilgrim spots in
Varanasi of
Uttar Pradesh. It is mythologically related to Kedarnath in the Himalayas. It is also the site of Haramapapa Teerth.
The highlight here is a red-and-white-striped temple, which enshrines Kedareshvara Lingam. The sanctums of Tarakesvara, Gauri Kunda and Vitanka Nrsimha can also be seen here. A monastery was attached to the temple by Kumaraswami, a great saint, during the 16th century.
This ghat is thronged by the devotees during the fifth Hindu month of Shravan (August).
