Kayamkulam Shri Vittala Temple, locally known as 'Konkani temple,' lies close to the Kayamkulam market, about 1 km on the eastern side of
National Highway 47 at
Kayamkulam. The 400 years old temple worships Shri Vittala as the principal deity.
The main feature of the temple is the rathotsavam celebrated annually.
The deities of
Nagaraja, Shiva and Vitobji are also worshipped in the temple complex.
According to legend, the idol of Shri Vittala was brought by a Pundit named Vittoba from Pandharpur. The important offering of the temple are bhajans.
Shri Vittala Temple can be easily accessed from Kayamkulam railway station (4 km) and bus stand (2 km).
