Kavi Chintamani Misra was a reputed writer of
Orissa, during the middle of the 16th century. He lived on the outskirts of
Puri.
He is known for his literary compositions in Sanskrit titled ‘Kadambarisara’, ‘Sambararicharita’ and ‘Bangmayaviveka.’ These works are based on the study of the art of composing poems and plays. Their beauty lies in the manner in which they are written, which is in a rhyming pattern, similar to that in a poem.
Kavi Chintamani Misra is also known for other Sanskrit writings, notable among them is ‘Krutyapuspabali’, which is based on the ‘Smriti.’
