Katraj Jain Temple




Katraj Jain Temple is situated at Katraj in Pune District of Maharashtra. It lies on the Pune-Satara Highway and is set on a hillock overseeing the city of Pune.

The temple contains a golden shaded idol of Lord Mahavir made of panch-dhatu. It is 12 ft tall and weighs about 5000 kg. The deity is seen in sitting position (Padmasan posture). A shrine dedicated to Parshwanath Bhagwan lies behind the main temple. Also made out of panch-dhatu, this idol is 8 ft tall and weighs 3000 kg.
