Katra

Katra, situated at an altitude of 2500 ft above sea level, is located in Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir.

This town is the base camp for the Yatra to the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. From Katra town one can reach the holy shrine after a 12 km trek.

Katra is around 50 km north-west of Jammu. Nearest airport is at Jammu. Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
