Katia is located in the northern part of Deoghar District in Jharkhand. It is around 20 km north-west of Deoghar, the district headquarters. Jasidih is about 10 km south of Katia.

Jasidih Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railway station. Ranchi Airport is the nearest airport.
