Situated 6 km west of
Kumbakonam at Tiruvalanchuzi in
Thanjavur District is the Karpaganathar Temple. This temple is dedicated to
Lord Shiva(Karpaganathar). The goddess Perianayagi is also worshipped here. The
teertham of the temple is Arubatharukodi Kaveri. It is said that saints Sambandar and Appar have sung pathigams in praise of the lord.
