Karmapa International Buddhist Institute

Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI), a college for advanced Buddhist studies, aims to promote wisdom and compassion through learning and translation of the great Buddhist treatises. Situated in South Delhi, it provides progressive programs in Buddhist studies such as the four-year initial course and five-year program of continuing education after the initial course. The syllabus includes Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan language. Classes are taught in Tibetan. Meditation classes are also available. Programs are conducted from mid-October to mid-March. The medium of instruction is Tibetan supported by English. The college is constructed in the traditional style of a Tibetan monastery. There is a library and a large shrine-room. A computer-room, the students’ lounge, and a coffee shop are other features. Accommodation facilities are offered for students.
