Karawala Tukri is a basket made by the Bengali speaking population of
Tripura. This basket, made of split bamboo, has a flat square base with the sides stretching out to a large circular rim. Four strong handles, called kara, made from split cane are attached to it.
This basket, used for carrying construction materials, has a height of 170 mm. The square base has a diagonal length of 210 mm, while the rim has a diameter of 425 mm.
