Kar Gnok Lok is a famous folk dance of
Lepchas. The word 'Kar Gnok Lok' literally means 'Dance of Swans.' It depicts the temporary stay of a group of migratory swans, who take a flight from the warm plains towards the cold
Himalayan region in the month of February/March and from cold region to the warm plain in the month of October/November. The Lepchas sow and harvest their crops according to the seasonal flight of these swans.
