Kapileswar Temple is located at Charda in
Sonpur District of
Orissa. The presiding deity is
Lord Shiva.
This temple is noted for its exquisite carvings. The pillars and pilasters are adorned with sculptures of feminine figures. There are inscriptions stating that the temple was constructed by a ruler named Anangabhima Deva III during the 13th century.
