Kapileswar Mahadev Temple

Kapileswar Mahadev Temple is located at Hatuari village in Dhenkanal District of Orissa. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

There is an inscription stating that the temple was built by a ruler named Kapileswar (1435-1467). The temple is in a dilapidated condition and the intact portions remind us of the architectural skills of the medieval period. Some of the notable carvings include the image of Nataraja and a slab depicting an elephant procession.
