Kangsakar or Kansari is a community of metal craftsmen belonging to
West Bengal. They deal in copper and its alloys.
Kangsakar are considered experts in mixing the Kansa alloy (seven parts of copper and one part of tin) and making various objects by beating and hammering. They never use molding or die-casting method.
They make objects meant for rituals using copper sheets. They also make dinning utensils using the Kansa alloy, and cooking utensils from brass.
