Situated at a distance of 44 km from the district headquarters of Pauri, on the
Srinagar-
Delchauri road, is the Kanda group of temples. The images of
Surya (10th century), Uma-Mahesh (11th century),
Lakshmi-Narayan (12th century} and
Vishnu (13th century) - all seated in the '
Garbh Griha’ (or inner Sanctum) of a Mother Goddess temple is the major attraction of the region. Archeologically, a number of stone images of various Gods - found in the vicinity - are very significant.
