Kamudi is a taluk headquarters in the western side of Ramanathapuram District of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the Aruppukkottai-Abiramam Road, at about 11 km from Abiramam. A rare 10th century Jain Tirthankara sculpture has been obtained from this locality. This sculpture throws more light on the Pandya kingdom, and the religious harmony that existed between Shaivism and Jainism during that period.
Uthirakosamangai, a sacred place for Hindus, is located around 42 km east. Erwadi is a nearby Muslim pilgrim center. Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary is the nearest attraction.
