Kamat is in
Gaya District of
Bihar, about 30 km to the south-west of
Gaya. This town is at an altitude of 423 ft above sea level.
Sherghati, on the National Highway 2, is only 5 km to the south. Other neighboring towns are Dariaura, Gurua and Bara.
The prime tourist destination outside the town is Gaya. Bodhgaya, located 29 km to the north, is of paramount importance to the Buddhists. Pinddaan, celebrated in Gaya, attracts thousands of pilgrims from the country and abroad.
Kamat is served by Gaya Airport and Gaya Junction Railway Station.
