Kalvan Bhaat is very common and popular fish curry in the state of
Maharashtra. It is traditionally made with cod or orange roughy. This authentic Maharashtrian fish curry simmered in garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric, tamarind paste and salt, turns out especially good when you serve with plain rice. Maharashtrians sometimes use dried mango powder or tomato puree instead of tamarind paste to get a different taste.
