Kallar is a picturesque village in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. The place gets its name from the Kallar River, which is 2 km downstream of the village. Kallu (referring stone) and Aru (meaning river) are two Malayalam words.
Renowned for round-shaped boulders and pebbles, Kallar is an ideal place for picnickers with an interest in trekking, angling and bird watching. Golden Valley and Meenmutti Waterfalls are the nearby attractions.
