Kallal is a small town by the banks of Manimattar, in
Sivagangai District. It is situated 15 km south-east of
Tiruppattur and around 60 km east of Madurai.
Nallamangaibagaswamy Hill Temple at Piranmalai and the Divya Desam at Tirukkoshtiyur are two holy sites nearby. The temple city of Madurai and the pilgrim center of Rameshwaram constitute short excursions from Kallal.
Nearest airport is at Madurai. Kallal Railway Station is on the Sivagangai – Karaikudi rail route of Southern Railways.
