Kali Temple




Kali Temple is a famous shrine situated about 27 km from Agartala, in West Tripura District. The temple, situated on a hillock, overlooks a vast lake, Kamalasagar. The temple enshrines a sand stone image of Goddess Kali. The image of the deity resembles Dasabhuja Durga or Mahishasuramardini.

Kali Temple which dates back to 15th century was built by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya. The temple lies near to the border of Bangladesh.

During the festival season, Kali Temple is visited by thousands of pilgrims from far and near.
