Kalaktang is a taluk headquarters town in the
West Kameng District of
Arunachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 1,113 m above sea level, it is in the south-west part of the district. It is bounded by
Dirang in the north, Bhutan in the west and
Assam in the south. The place has a rich deposit of quartzite with an estimated reserve of 3.13 million tones. This small town has well-equipped inspection bungalow, circuit house and hotels for food and accommodation.
The district headquarters,
Bomdila, is around 40 km from Kalaktang. Regular bus services are available from Bomdila to Kalaktang.
