Kala Sadhanalaya is a dance institute situated at Abhiramapuram, in
Chennai District of
Tamil Nadu. It is mainly dedicated to the training and performance of classical
Bharatanatyam in Melattur style. It was established by Revathi Ramachandran, a profound artist, who has carved for herself a unique niche in the dance scenario.
The curriculum covers an intensive study of the rich cultural heritage of India and the theory of Natya Shastra. It also provides a firm foundation in ‘Nritya’ including Sudha Nritya (temple dance form renovated by Guru Mangudi Durairaja Iyer) and a course in Nattuvangam.
