Kai Silambu Attam




Kai Silambu Attam is a popular folk dance of Tamil Nadu. The dance is in praise of all female deities, the most preferred being Goddess Durga. It is usually held in temples.

Kai Silambu Attam is played during Amman festivals or Navaratri festival. The dancers wear ankle-bells and hold anklets or silambu in their hands, which create sound when shaken. Their gracious leg positions are the major attraction.
