Kahalgaon is located in
Bhagalpur District of
Bihar. It is about 30 km east of
Bhagalpur.
Kahalgaon has immense historical and archeological importance. Fine carvings of Gupta period excavated from here underlines this. Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary is the major attraction here. The town also houses a thermal power station.
Nearest airport is at Patna. Kahalgaon Railway Station is on the Sahibganj - Bhagalpur rail route.
