Kadampazhipuram




Kadampazhipuram or Vayilyakkunnu is a small hamlet laced with a rich greenery of coconut palms and extensive paddy fields. Numerous trees, hillocks and lakes dotting its terrain add to the scenic bliss. This serene village is located at Ottappalam in Palakkad District of Kerala.

People in this village are mainly engaged in agriculture. Kanjirapuzha River and numerous other water bodies make the soil of Kadampazhipuram even more fertile.

The village mainly revolves round the nucleus of the famous Thiruvazhiyode Vayilya Kunnilappan Temple. This temple is believed to have been consecrated by Vararuchi, 1500 years ago. Many people visit this temple and pay homage to the deity, Vayilya Kunnilappan. Vayilyakunnu Bhagavathy Temple situated nearby is an oasis of peace and tranquillity.

By road, this scenic hamlet is about 27 km from Palakkad. Ottapalam Railway Station on the Shoranur-Palakkad line is the nearest railway station. Coimbatore Airport is the nearest airport.
