Kadakeshwarar Temple

Kadakeshwarar Temple is located in the middle of a shopping complex, on the Kammalar Street in Kanchipuram. The temple houses an idol of Kadageshwarar as the presiding deity. Legend says that the temple is the place where Goddess Parvati installed an idol of Lord Shiva, and prayed to him, wearing a gold string and a divine bracelet around her wrist. The temple is named after the bracelet (kadakam) worn by the goddess.

To reach this place, the nearest railway station is the Arakkonam Railway Station, located to the north-east of Kanchipuram.
