Kadai is the needle art of
Punjab and is practiced by the
Punjabi women.
Various designs are made on the cloths and these are called baghs (garden), phulkaris (flower work) and rummals (handkerchief). The needling work for phulkaris is done by piercing the needle upwards from beneath and for baghs and rummals, the work is done on top-side only.
Different needle works are done on bed spreads, chunnis and duppattas (head covers), shirts and salwars.
