Kacharis are one of the major tribes of
Nagaland. They inhabit areas in
Dimapur District. The belong to a non-Aryan race. Their rituals reveal a distinct resemblance with Hindu ceremonies. The main festival celebrated by this tribe is the annual Bashu, which falls on the last week of January.
