Kaalavela is an indigenous folk art of
Kerala. It involves a magnificent procession of huge multicolored images of bulls. Bull is called ‘kaala’ in the local slang, hence giving the art the name Kaalavela. It represents one the finest aspects in the colorful culture of this region.
