Jorepokhari Lake is situated at Jorepokhari (Jodpokhari) village in
Darjeeling District of
West Bengal, about 18 km away from the town of
Darjeeling. This lake is home to a large number of
Himalayan Newt (a rare species of salamanders), which have chosen the lake as a place to breed. Surrounded by forests, the lake with its calm and pleasant atmosphere attracts the nature enthusiasts and bird lovers.
