Jeth Ashtami, celebrated throughout
Jammu and Kashmir, is the birthday of Goddess Ragni, the Hindu guardian Goddess of Kashmir. It falls on the 8th day of the bright fortnight of Jeth, the third month of the Hindu calendar, which falls in either May or June.
A big fair is held in the
Tullamulla Village, 5 km from Gandarbal, near Srinagar, attracts thousands of people from all over Kashmir.
