Jehangir Art Gallery is a premier center for exhibiting the finest in contemporary art. It is situated adjacent to the
Prince Of Wales Museum in
Mumbai. It was built in 1952 and is named after Cowasji Jehangir, who donated the required funds for the construction. The gallery is managed by the Bombay Art Society.
There are four exhibition halls in this yellow stone building, each displaying the works of well-known artists and photographers. The reputation and prestige involved in showcasing one’s work in this gallery can be inferred by the long waiting-list of the artists eager to present their creations. Artists even lineup in the plaza situated in front of the building to sell their works.
Jehangir Art Gallery is located at
