Jeevan Jyot Mandal, an organization at
Pune, commenced its operations in 1980. Meena Inamdar founded this organization with a view to provide the mentally challenged with life skills through special education and vocational training. In a short span, they have started a special school for the retarded between ages 6 yrs to 18 yrs, a vocational training center for adults, a hostel for the boys and girls, a child guidance clinic and parents counselling center. Currently, the organization admits about 150 inmates.
