Jataru Kayang, a popular folk dance of
Himachal Pradesh, is generally performed during the time of festivals.
In this dance, as the musician plays the instruments, the leader of the dance performs with Chamar, a traditional instrument, in his hands. This Chamar becomes a bone of content and leads to fight among the dancers. Later, Ghure, the leader of the dance, has to pay a small fee at the temple for utilizing the Chamar.
