Jat-Jatin Dance is one of the most popular dance forms of the Mithila and Koshi regions of
Bihar. Usually performed by a couple, the dance recounts the story of the lovers Jat and Jatin who were separated and undergo a number of difficulties. Poverty, sorrow, love, the sweet and tender quarrels between lovers, complaints between husband and wife, all find expression in this dance. In some versions of this dance, the performers wear masks.
