Jami Masjid, one of the most beautiful mosques in the country, was built in 1661 by Aud-un-Nabi,
Aurangzeb's governor. It is located at
Mathura in
Uttar Pradesh.
The masjid is decorated with glazed tiles, now most of it has faded. At prest, it remains surrounded by four minarets and assorted outer pavilions.
Katra Masjid, the impressive red sandstone mosque built by Aurangzenb, is just 0.5 km west of the Jami Masjid.
