Jambulinga Temple

Jambulinga Temple is a northern style temple located at Pattadakkal (the second capital of the Chalukyan kings) in Karnataka.

This beautiful temple is dedicated to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The striking feature of the temple is the fine figure of the Dancing Shiva with Nandi and Parvati by his side.

The temple is built in simplest architecture consisting of only a sanctum and a mandap. The sanctum has a sculptured niche on the bandra-projections and is crowned by a squat and ponderous Shikhara. The mandap has latticed window on its lateral sides.

Pattadakal is 29 km from Badami and 17 km from Aihole. The nearest railway station is at Badami. Taxis and private buses are available from Badami to Jambulinga Temple.
