Jama Masjid, the oldest mosque in Hyderabad, is located a few meters away from
Charminar in
Hyderabad. It was built in 1597 by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah after the completion of Charminar.
It remains one of the principal places of worship in the city and is visited by a large number of devotees. The ruins of an old Turkish bath lie within the premises of the Masjid.
Hyderabad Airport, 8 km north of the city, is the nearest airport.
