Jalaun, for which the district is named, is a prominent town in Jalaun District. It is about 24 km north-west of Orai, the administrative headquarters. Neighboring towns are

Khanuan and Bangra.
Kalpi, a beautiful town about 35 km north-east of Orai, is an ideal place of excursion from here, where one can visit the historic Kalpi fort and view the architectural splendor of Chaurasi Gumbaz.
