Jalakanteswarar Temple




Jalakanteswarar Temple is one of the three temples located inside the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus, in Chennai. The temple enshrines Lord Jalakanteswarar as the presiding deity along with his consort Goddess Kartyayani. The temple also houses the shrines of Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman and the Navagrahas.

The main festivals celebrated in the temple are Navratri and Mahashivaratri. This temple is also the venue for music concerts by upcoming artistes. Durga Peeli Amman Temple and Vinayagar Temple are nearby worship places.

Chennai Central Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Chennai Bus Station is around 14 km away.
